Mitko Karushkov is a Master of Law (LLM), a Sofia University graduate (1996). He has further attended and completed post-graduation practices and specializations at The Sofia City Court, The Limassol District Court, as well as at different universities and law firms in Cyprus, Wales and Spain, at a construction company and a law firm in Bulgaria. Main focus of these has been development of a strong practical, cultural, interpersonal, theoretical and networking background in the sectors of corporate law, transactional law, international tax planning, HNWI, technology, media, data, telecommunications and business intellectual property.

Mitko partnered with a Bulgarian law firm in setting up, further developing and growing the business law practices of corporate law, mergers & acquisitions, transactional law, IT and data protection law, regulatory & compliance in the tech sector, financial sector, telecommunications and media, outsourcing, as well as business intellectual property (2000-2021). 

 

Throughout this period Mitko was actively and directly involved in decision making, managing teams, management consulting and provision of legal, transactional, business, regulatory and compliance solutions and advice to large international companies in the telecommunications, technology, media and financial sectors.

 

Mitko has developed a strong practical and cultural approach in advising large portfolio transactions (some reaching EUR 1 bn.), as well as skills of operational and solution-oriented interaction with international advisory, management and business teams, shareholders and founders. Mitko consistently paid specific attention to sourcing, selection and further developing young lawyers to become recognizable team members, trusted by clients and commonly heading up to be considered “rising stars”.

As from 2021 Mitko has accommodated these services, solutions and activities in his own practice based in the European Union – seated in Sofia, Bulgaria, available also in Madrid, Spain, Brussels, Belgium and Istanbul, Turkey.
